Repair Surveyor and Building Diagnostics
Our buildings will at some point need maintenance of some kind, It may be a simple visible damp patch on a wall or some kind of crack appearing within the building, the problem is, is this something minor and nothing to worry about or is it something more serious.
This is when you need to get an expert in, the problem we hear a lot of the time is can you trust the expertise of the tradesmen and will they be honest and tell you exactly what needs doing or will they rip you off! We have been in the building industry for over 30 years dealing with such issues and have an extensive knowledge of building defects and how to repair them. We can also advise you if this damage would be likely coverable under your insurance or if it would be better to repair yourself and not possibly lose your no claims bonus.
Charges for these works are as follows:
Initial visit plus scope
Charge p/h or part thereof for each hour
(this could be for a site visit or discussion in regards to received quotes)
What Sibley Surveyors will do
Unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous tradesmen out there and finding one that can do a great job without overcharging can be a daunting task. At Sibley Surveying, we firstly diagnose the issue and draw up a scope of works - this will help the owner know that the correct works are being carried out and there is no over scoping on behalf of the tradesman. We then assist the homeowner in finding tradesmen and getting them to quote for the works. Once we have the quotes in we can then discuss with the homeowner who they want to use and ensure they are paying the best price for the works. If the homeowner wishes, we can also pop round during and after the works to ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
